Sons of Hippies – New Poster Art

So my buddies over at THXMGMT ask me to work on a second project for Sons of Hippies and I gotta say I was pretty excited for the opportunity. I had worked with them on a previous project and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Here is what I came up with.

I had a lot of fun working on this and remember everything me and SOH had talked about before in regards to there artistic stylings. I am happy to see that they were very pleased with this work and from what I hear, there was a lot of good feed back about this particular poster at the show. So with that said, potentially there might be some prints of this piece coming up pretty soon. Only time will tell.

The Go Find

Found this little gem while combing the internet for new design inspiration. With a consistent electonica overtone, these guys still manage to pull of a very euro-inde kind of vibe. A nice blend of idie rock and manically ambient electonica, mixes well into there less than challenging melodious. With that said, I’d also like to say it works perfectly for these guys. Anything more complicated and ” showy ” and I think the album would turn out a bit to busy and over the top. Based out of Antwerp Belgium, this group has struck some tunes made for driving at dusk.

So I’ve been following this girl for about 4 years now back when she had only 60,000 views on Myspace. Told all my friends she was going to be the next big thing and even dropped her name to a few music critics I’ve been working with. Naturally given that I was just some rookie college kid, no one took me seriously and what do you know? She shows up with her debut album on the home page of itunes and was awarded best new artist in the UK. Case in point – Ellie Goulding is a fascinating blend between a singer songwriter soul mixing in with inde-electronica pop.
